Affordable Housing Board

The board is to create the administrative mechanisms for the implementation of the Fair Housing Act and its amendments and the rules and regulations of the Council on Affordable Housing.

Arts Maplewood Advisory Committee

The committee is to conduct cultural programs and oversee daily use of the Burgdorff Cultural Center.

Burgdorff Board

The board is established to oversee and administer the Burgdorff Cultural Center in accordance with the purposes of the Burgdorff Cultural Center.

Cable Television Advisory Committee

The committee is to asses the cable-related needs and interests of the community in Maplewood.

Economic Development Advisory Committee

This committee advises the Township Committee on issues of economic development and business retention and expansion.

Environmental Advisory Committee

The committee advises the Township Committee and the municipal government on environmental/green issues including recycling, clean air, clean water, and protection against health threatening contaminants.

General Assessment Board

The board addresses tax assessment issues.

Historic Preservation Commission

The commission is to identify historic sites, districts and landmarks within the boundaries of the Township and to recommend their designation.

Local Assistance Board

The board addresses the settlement and relief of the poor and in respect to financial assistance to needy persons.

Maplewood Drug Alliance

The committee is to organize and coordinate efforts involving schools, law enforcement, business groups and other community organizations for the purpose of reducing alcoholism and drug abuse.

Open Space Trust Advisory Committee

The committee advises the Township Committee regarding open space projects and the open space trust fund.

Planning Board

The board reviews subdivisions and land use proposals, making recommendation on such to the Township Committee.

Recreation Advisory Committee

The committee studies and advises the Township Committee, Business Administrator and the Director of Recreation and Cultural Affairs on parks and recreation facilities and programs within the Township.

Rent Leveling Board

The board addresses and implements the rent control regulations of the Township.

Swimming Pool Advisory Committee

The committee is to make recommendations to Township Committee regarding the swimming pool budget and administration.

Transportation Committee

The committee is to study, evaluate and report on the transportation, traffic and parking needs of the Township.

Youth Recreation Advisory Committee

The committee is to provide feedback on current Township recreation programs, suggest and test new ideas/programs to fill gaps in service, develop intergenerational relationships and programs and recommend actions to the Recreation Advisory Committee and to the Township Committee.

Zoning Board of Adjustments

The board hears and decides appeals and variances regarding zoning.
